As Team Australia head home from their two-game series against Japan in both Nagoya and Osaka, purely on numbers let’s take a look at the team’s performance.
Japan is ranked 2nd in the World (behind the USA) and Australia ranked 8th and in the end, the Japanese proved the superior team.
Game 1 was played in the Nagoya Dome in front of 33,748 fans cheering on the local side. A superb performance by Travis Blakley who gave the men in green every chance to win. Unfortunately, the dominant Japanese pitching had other ideas as the Aussies couldn’t apply scoreboard pressure as Japan ran out 2-0 winners.
Game 2 saw the wheels come off early as 3 early errors gifted Japan an early lead and once again the dominant Japanese arms silenced the Southern Thunder as the home side ran out winners 6-0 in Osaka in front of 27,951 at the Osaka Dome.
Huge props to the debutants who showed the future is bright! Robbie Glendinning the pick of the batters and all pitchers on debut did not give up a run.
