Heat win it on Greg Jelks tribute night

PERTH – Well it was a special Friday Night in Perth as the legends of the Perth Heat joined the current players and Baseball Community to pay tribute to #44 Greg Jelks.

In the fastest game of the season clocking 2 hrs 3 minutes the Heat won it 2-1 off the back of quality pitching and timely hitting, non more so than Derek Peterson who extended his hitting streak to 23, the longest streak in the history of the reborn ABL.

Pitching again was outstanding for the Heat off the back of a successful start from Baltimore Orioles prospect, Lex Rutledge who looked in control at all stages and a man who our own Dan Vaughan believes is “The Best pitcher in the league, right now”.
