ADELAIDE – The Perth Heat navigated through a tricky night of Baseball in West Beach, running out winners 5-3 in a game that wasn’t without a scare.
It took the Heat bats a little while to adjust the odd 2.5 hour time difference, but eventually, Mike Brosseau’s 6th long ball for the year had the Heat tied at 1 through 6.
Another encouraging start by Alex Boshers saw the man from Music City go 5.0IP giving up 6 hits and 0 Earned Runs to continue cementing himself as the Ace of the Heat starters.
Joe Van Meter was outstanding in his 2 innings of relief, especially coming in with runners on the corner with 0 outs. An outstanding heads-up play by Brosseau got the runner at home, followed by a highlight double play that saw Van Meter covering 1st base, it was a dandy.
Jesse Williams first ABL Home Run was another highlight, and Luke Hughes once again went yard scoring two off Matt Williams.
The game also heralds the return of Warwick Saupold, the Detroit Tiger only threw 4 pitches, but they were a great 4 pitches to watch.
Cameron Lamb shut the door on the Bite with a gutsy strikeout to their hot hitting Chen to move the Heat to 16-8 on the season and extends their win streak to 4.
