Brisbane, QLD- For the better part of the afternoon all the wrongs of the ABL season were forgotten and the Alcohal. Think Again Pert Heat raced to a 7-2 lead. It looked like the Heat would escape Brisbane with a win and play spoiler to Brisbane’s chase of a post season spot.
The Heat seemed to be in control in the seventh but Jake Bowey ran into trouble. He was relieved by Benn Grice who has been lights out for Perth. The Bandits David Rodriguez launched a game tying home run in the 7th off of Grice with two outs and it was a walk off winner for Brisbane an inning later as Kevin Padlo did the honours with a solo homer to center field off of Warwick Saupold.
In the end it was the Heat’s 10th one run loss of the season now 4-10 in that category and the second straight blown save. Derek Peterson did extend his hitting streak to 22 games with a home run and the Heat got a three run shot from Josh Kennelly but that was not enough to hold of Brisbane.
The Heat will return home for the last series of the year against Melbourne on 27-28-29 of January.
